Full Moon in Cancer

December 29, 2020 A Time for your Loving Attention

Do you remember when a doctor's note or written excuse got you out of school for the day? Maybe you were spared from 'push ups day' in P.E. or a lame field trip.. Score. Well, this full moon, Mama Mary is writing you an excuse from "school" as well... As we move out of the holiday season and begin to focus on 2021 we may feel really tired or worn out. And this full moon in Cancer is about recognizing and honoring what we feel and what we need. It can shine a guiding light into the spaces we feel out of alignment with ourselves and our personal self care. Specifically, it can show us where we are not nourishing ourselves enough. This can be super helpful because sometimes its hard for us to see clearly. Example: Has anyone had the experience where you didn't know how hungry, tired, lonely or overwhelmed you were until someone unsuspectingly cuts you off in traffic or the restaurant gets your take out order wrong? Then.... BOOM. You feel a huge 'ouch' followed by tears and/or big, strong emotion? We sometimes develop the habit of pushing ourselves over our edge and having big emotion before we begin to notice we actually need our own help. And unfortunately this 'pushing through' or moving past our capacity is usually celebrated and supported by a lot of our world as being a "team player" or creating you into a martyr in some way. So then we begin to judge our self for the big, strong emotion or for snapping (when we already feel like crap) because 'darn it I am suppose to be a team player and sacrifice myself!' Aw. Ouch. Ouch. Double whammy. Let's stop that, okay? (Air hug) The truth is our bodies need healthy food, good sleep, time alone, as well as time with people we feel nourished by. And the amount we need these things varies all the time. So honey listen, I hereby grant (insert your name here) permission to give yourself exactly what you need, all day long this full moon and to create even more space to listen to what that truly is- in the most curious, non judgmental and loving way. This full moon is an amazing time to be inspired, not drained by what it is you see you need and feel moved into loving action for the next year. So where have you been ignoring or not telling yourself the truth around what it is you actually need? Gentle gentle gentle, my sweet darlings and 'Happy Listening and Giving Yourself What You Need Day!' Love you, M.
